St. Joseph Choir

For many years St. Joseph’s Choir was under the capable direction of Sister Aloysius and Sister Loyola of the Ursuline Nuns; later lay organists assumed the responsibility of the liturgical music.

Mrs. Olive Stretesky served as organist and choir director for thirty-six years. Carol Van Ronzelen served as organist for the parish from January 1963 to 1969. Mrs. Louise Sickman served as composer, organist and director from 1966 to January 1994. In January 1994 Mark Farrell assumed the role as the Director of Music & Liturgy at St. Joseph. Mark, then a promising musician at nineteen, had only two years of piano lessons given him by the late Mrs. L.G. Eckart and continued his tutelage with Mrs. Louise Sickman. Farrell attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Bonne Terre High School.
