Blessing of Pets – This Wednesday is the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. It’s traditional to bless pets on that day. Actually the bible is filled with examples when God’s creatures served the faithful, giant fish saved Jonah; ravens brought bread to Elijah; animals were included in the repentance of Nineveh; Jesus is noted as the good shepherd. And so we thank God for setting us as stewards over all the creatures of the earth If you wish to have your pet blessed bring them up Wednesday morning at 9 am or 6 pm on the parish circle …….and I will say a blessing over them. Your dog doesn’t have to be Catholic!
